Supervising Social Worker Position- Full Time
Location: Benfleet, Essex
Contract Type: Full Time/Permanent
Salary: Up to £32,500 per annum plus extra payment for Out of Hours Duty.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced qualified Social Worker to join our team at Quality Foster Care - Independent Fostering Agency, based in Benfleet Essex who recently received ‘Good’ in our Ofsted inspection, with Management and Leadership awarded ‘Outstanding'. Ofsted Report
The ideal candidate will share our ongoing commitment in providing excellence in the quality placements we provide for young people and children in our care. The role as Supervising Social Worker will require managing a caseload of up to 10 fostering households, largely spread across South Essex, although travel to North Essex or neighbouring counties may well be required on occasion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, assessing, supervising, keeping up to date with recordings on the agency database, training and supporting foster carers and their placements, and take part in the out of hours duty rota. The position requires a motivated individual who is actively seeking to develop their professional skills through training, and contribute to the steady growth of the agency. We partner closely with Local Authorities to create the best possible opportunities and outcomes for the young people and children we care for and hold preferred provider contracts with Essex County Council, Southend Borough Council, Cambridgeshire, Thurrock as well as London Councils amongst other Placing Authorities.
All potential candidates must hold a full, clean driver’s license and provide their own car.
A degree in Social Work, DiPSW or other relevant qualifications;
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s Social Work preferably within a fostering service.
Comprehensive understanding of current National Minimum Standards and fostering regulations.
Working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practice and polices.
Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities.
