Fostering allowance

At Quality Foster Care, we understand that fostering can be demanding at times which is why we pay our foster carers a generous fostering allowance so they can focus on giving their foster child or children the best possible care.

Payments will vary depending on the type of placement, please contact our team on 01268 795 597 for more detailed information.

Standard placement

£445.69 per week per child

Respite

£357.47 per week per child

Enhanced placement

£658.84 per week per child
This is generally a young person with more complex needs that may require additional input and support such as clinical input or additional short breaks

Sibling placement

There is an additional allowance for second and subsequent siblings. Sibling placements can vary depending on individual arrangements so it will differ depending on the placing authority.

Short breaks

In addition to the fostering allowances, you will be entitled to 14 days paid respite and 7 days paid holiday allowance each year.

Benefits

Quality Foster Care is an independent provider, but we are also proud to be part of the Five Rivers Child Care family – a social enterprise committed to transforming the lives of children and young people. This partnership enables us to offer our foster carers access to a range of expertise and services that many smaller providers don’t have access to.

This might be in the form of additional therapeutic support for the children, specialist training for the foster carers or opportunities for children and young people to join with special national events with other care experienced children.

When you join Quality Foster Care the following benefits will be available to you:

  • Instant access to Foster Talk, an independent organisation that provides a range of support and advice services to our foster carers
  • Membership to New Family Social, a charity for LGBT+ foster carers and adopters
  • Access to specialist training courses run by experienced practitioners, all free of charge
